Charlotte Sakmar Åberg
I am a U.S.-Swedish dual citizen with an international upbringing and a passion for learning and exploring. Born in New York City, before moving to Stockholm in 2011, where I embraced the language and culture. Later, I moved to Montpellier, France, where adapting to life without the familiarity of family or friends taught me resilience a skill that continues to shape my personal and professional growth. Back in Sweden, I graduated highschool from Sigtuna Humanistiska Läroverket, a leading pre-university institution, where I developed strong leadership and collaboration skills.
I am currently pursuing a degree in Economics and Environmental Sustainable Systems at Binghamton University. I spent the fall of my Junior year abroad with Sea Education Association in an 18-credit program accredited through Boston University, focused on climate change in ocean environments. Looking ahead, I aim to complete my undergraduate studies in May 2025 with magna cum laude. In my career, I want to focus on monitoring and managing environmental impact while maximizing positive contributions to communities and ecosystems. I’m drawn to roles that involve ESG strategy development, where I can evaluate environmental, social, and economic metrics to guide sustainable practices and policies.
