Artwork
I am working on a series of drawings for my IB art class that focuses on the beauty and mystery of marine life and another that explores memory. My exhibition for IB art is called "A Moment in Time". My main interest lies in graphic design and I am trying to expand my knowledge in the computer side of art, using applications like Adobe Illustrator and Designer.
Above is a series of water color paintings made to represent the contrasts between my life in the US and in France. They are all painted from photographs that I took. My goal was to capture a moment in time and to create a graphic representation on the photos, while still using muted, calming colors that capture the viewers attention.
Above, compositional sketch in ink for the beginnings of my screen print for a piece I will use in my IB art exhibition, as well as the final screen print.
This piece was inspired by a scene that I saw while in New York City. The pick-up truck capture my attention as it combined two aspects of my life. My life in the city, as well as my life in my family's farm house on Long Island (the truck representing that aspect).
I loved experimenting with screen printing and hope to design more prints in college. This print was done with four layers. The text, the black outline of the buildings and street, the car and grey color in the buildings.
I hope to create a print for this, as the original was burned in a fire at my school on March 1st, 2021.
Above, and to the side is a series of digital art called, "On The Run". The original sketches were done on paper, which was then transfered into a digital format where I used a program called Designer on an iPad to make them.
They are part of a serieres for my IB art exhibition working to represent my personal life, growing up in a big city and always being "On The Run".
This was one of the first art pieces that I completed, that sparked my interest in the graphic design realm of art. I hope to create a print for this, as the original was burned in a fire at my school on March 1st, 2021.
"Deep Sea" is a work that I created, inspired by my experience out at sea especially while scuba diving. I remember looking up to the surface on one of my first dives, the sun was shining through water. Each ray of light exposed a tens of jellyfish, they were illuminated by the sun. In that moment, I connected with the ocean, it was one of the first times that I was taken away from the beauty of the ocean.
This works represents this experience, and everything that I want to save in my future career.
I hope to create a print for this, as the original was burned in a fire at my school on March 1st, 2021.
"Hidden in the #5" is a work in progress made to represent major memories from my childhood. In completion the number 5 will be visible within the individual pieces, when put together.
The goal for this work is imaged bellow (edited in photoshop).
Photography
My goal for the next couple of years is to travel on board sailing vessels in the Pacific, around Australia, New Zealand and in Antartica. I hope to being my camera along the journey, capturing every moment.
These photos are part of a series for my IB art exhibition. My goal was to experiment with magazine cover designs in representing contrast through shadows and poses.
